News from the Academic Bowl
FIRST in Georgia for the third year in a row!
The tradition of academic excellence continued last week as Creek View’s Academic Bowl team competed in the 44th annual 5th and 6th Grade Winter Knowledge Masters Open.
Our twenty 5th graders scored a total of 609 points which placed them FIRST in Georgia and 31st out of 206 5th grade teams.
Congratulations to the team and we look forward to continued success!

Redistricting meetings set for new North Fulton high school
Three community meetings are set for February 23, March 16, and April 13 to address the redistricting process for a new high school in north Fulton County. Each will be held at Alpharetta High School, located at 3595 Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta, from 7-9 p.m.
The high school will be constructed at the corner of Bethany Bend and Cogburn Road and is scheduled to open in August 2012. Existing attendance zones of other North Fulton high schools will be modified to create the new school’s attendance zones. Parents, staff, and community members are invited to give input on how the new boundary lines will be drawn. Fulton County Schools uses a process that encourages public discussion before developing a proposal. This allows the community to have maximum input in how the proposed attendance lines are created.
The Fulton County Board of Education is scheduled to vote on the new attendance zones in June 2011. Changes in attendance zones will go into effect when the new school opens in August 2012.

ReplyDeleteHi, our daughter is in Ms. Shields Class. We didn't know about this blog until Ms. Shields told us. This is a great idea! I would love to see this completely replace all the paper (dead trees) sent home every Thursday. Please keep up the great work and also let us know when we can opt out of the paper version and use this one exclusively! Thanks!
